Dayana Lucas (Caracas, Venezuela, 1987) is an artist and designer living between Porto and the Island of Madeira. In her artistic practice, Lucas is particularly interested in the transformation process from drawing into sculpture. As a graphic designer, she has been collaborating with Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto Municipality, University of Porto, Galeria Gabinete and Porta 33, among other Portuguese cultural institutions. Lucas co-founded Oficina Arara (2010-2017), a printing workshop and artistic collective and collaborates, since 2010, with SOOPA collective, whose work unfolds in the fields of music, theatre and contemporary dance. Recently she created Orinoco, a publisher of books and artist editions.
